I care about building things with intention: the structure, the interaction and the details, until the result feels inevitable.

One idea led to another.
Useful tools are scattered across the web, each with its own account and its own idea of how things should work. A file converter became one coherent place for all of them.
The idea becameToolbox.

What’s new
Toolbox, lately.
Files open where you are and change right there. A small Assistant is one shortcut away. Here is what has changed.
Files and the viewer
Open any file. Change it right there.
Every file opens full screen, with its editing built in.
Photos: crop, resize, compress and live colour filters, saved back to the same file. No extra download.
PDFs: the PDF tools are inside the viewer, and you can edit a PDF’s text in place, like a Word document.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint open in their own editor. Code and text files show their text.
Audio and video: trim, change speed and sound, and save a copy. Compress videos, make GIFs and extract audio.
On phones, a dock along the bottom keeps every action under your thumb.

Files works like a desktop
A menubar with File, Edit, View and Go.
Double-click or press Enter to open a file; preview it side by side.
Compress and Extract here, straight from a file’s menu.
Simple coloured progress rings, fast delete of many items, and big batch uploads.
Keep files Offline in this browser, or Online, synced to your account.
A small Assistant, anywhere
Press CtrlK on any page to ask.Ask the Assistant about the page or file you’re using.
It knows the tool or file in front of you, and answers about pictures quickly.
Continue in chat moves the talk to the full Assistant.
Fold it away to a small floating button when you need the space.
A quick start that shows you
An animated tour of Toolbox, from Settings › General › Guide.
A guide for each tool, only for the tools you can use.
KoreLearn is in it too.
Music while you work
Play from Spotify or YouTube Music.
Save songs and albums, add songs to your playlists, and manage your library from Music.
YouTube video on or off: keep the song, hide the video.
A mini player keeps playing as you move between tools.CtrlM opens Music.
Notes, wherever you think
Write with headings, checklists, code and collapsible sections. Keep everything together in folders and tags.
Type / for blocks, follow a heading outline, or ask @assistant right where you are writing.
Your account and the app
Sign in with a passkey: add and remove them in Settings › Passkeys.
An “Update Toolbox” prompt appears when a new version goes live.
Install Toolbox as an app, and get notifications for reminders and messages.
Glass, and calm motion
Menus, dialogs and floating panels are frosted glass, and their text turns light or dark to match what is behind them.
Everything slides smoothly into place, with no bounce.
When you search, the most relevant result is the one drawn in black.
Why Toolbox
Pro-grade tools. One design language.
Every tool is built to the standard of the best dedicated app in its category, then made to work with all the others.
Principles
Four promises, kept everywhere.
Assistant
An agent that uses every tool.
Ask in plain words. It reads your PDFs, Word files and email, runs the calculators, builds websites with a live preview, files what it learns about you in Mind, and shows its results as cards you can act on.
Summarise the lease and remind me a week before renewalLease, 3 pages: ₦2.4M a year, renews 1 March, 3 months’ notice. Reminder set for 22 February.
Private
Your files stay on your device.
PDF, image, audio and video work runs in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to process it, and what you open here stays yours.

Connected
Tools hand work to each other.
Scan, clean, sign and send a document without downloading it once. Results land in Files, and every other tool can pick them up.

Crafted
The same care in every corner.
One design language across every tool: the same controls, the same shortcuts, the same motion. Fast enough to feel like it was always open.

A Software Engineering student at Babcock University, building technology that is useful, coherent and pleasant to interact with. Toolbox grew from a simple idea: useful software should reduce friction rather than create more of it.
